Denver Nuggets - Statistics & Facts

The Denver Nuggets are a professional basketball team that compete in the National Basketball Association’s Western Conference Northwest Division. Founded in 1967 as the Denver Larks, the team was a charter franchise of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and renamed the Rockets prior to its first season in the league. The team was then renamed the Nuggets in 1976 and joined the NBA following the ABA-NBA merger.

The Nuggets currently play their home games at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. During the 2019/20 NBA season, the average regular season home attendance for a Nuggets game was 19,186 per game and total attendance for that season amounted to 633,153. The Nuggets generated around 218 million U.S. dollars in revenue during the 2019/20 season, while the team’s operating income for that same season stood at approximately 27 million U.S. dollars. The team’s franchise value stands at about 1.65 billion U.S. dollars and the Nuggets are currently owned by American real-estate mogul, Stan Kroenke.

The Nuggets have never made it to an NBA championship final in their history, although they did make it to the playoffs in the 2018-2019 season, before being eliminated in the second round by the Portland Trail Blazers. The Nuggets have a combined total of approximately 2.96 million fans and followers on Facebook and Twitter.
