One of the reasons for shopping at discounter supermarkets is not only to save money, but also to search for additional bargains. Are Lidl customers always looking for cheap deals? Around 35 percent of the surveyed respondents agreed with that statement in 2021. At the same time, Lidl shoppers were not averse to treating themselves to more expensive cosmetics and body care products. Roughly 16 percent supported this idea. Customers also valued healthy eating, even if it cost more, which highlights their attention to the quality of products they consumed, while paying attention to the shopping budget.
Most Lidl customers shop regularly at the supermarket, with around 57 percent going there several times a week. Preferences for grocery shopping days vary. Around 61 percent of Lidl customers shopped on Saturdays. In fact, Fridays and Saturdays were the most popular days for a supermarket run. The largest share of Lidl shoppers had a monthly net income of between 1,000 and 1,500 euros.
