In 2020, the number of online music subscribers reached 523 million, up from 443 million in the previous year. The figure for 2021 was nearly 100 million more than that recorded in 2020, and whilst streaming revenue growth has begun to slow down, streaming now makes up 65 percent of total global recorded music revenue.
