In recent years, the social video app TikTok has become one of the most downloaded non-gaming apps in the world. In the second quarter of 2021, TikTok achieved approximately 205 million downloads. TikTok was developed by the Beijing-based company Bytedance and counted over 310 million downloads in the first quarter of 2020. Overall, the social video platform has generated more than two billion lifetime downloads via the App Store and Google Play.
