Telenor ASA is a Norwegian multinational telecom company and one of the global leaders. Its revenue has fluctuated over the past few years, but except for 2018, it has always been higher than 11 billion euros. Telia Company AB, the Swedish telecom giant, had net sales amounting at 86 billion Swedish kronor, or approximately 8.3 million euros.

Fixed telephone subscribers have increased in recent years in the Scandinavian countries and the number of subscribers in Sweden amounted to just under 2.4 billion individuals. In contrast, more and more people were subscribing to mobile cellular services and the number of Swedes the same year was roughly 13 million and the other Nordic countries followed a similar vein. Despite some fluctuation over the evaluated period, the number of Finnish mobile cellular subscribers in 2018 was twice as high as it was back in 2000.
With the advancement of technology, it can be expected that new telecom services might emerge and new trends be set up.
