Amongst the leading household products in terms of retail sales that year, toilet tissue was ranked first in the United States, generating nearly 9 billion U.S. dollars in revenue in 2019. Cleaning tools were also a leading category of household products in the United States. In 2019, annual consumer expenditures on cleaning supplies and detergents reached around 185 U.S dollars and 87 U.S. dollars, respectively.

Procter & Gamble generated U.S. sales in excess of 31 billion U.S. dollars in 2020, an increase from the previous year's 28.6 billion dollars. The company also invested more in advertising expenditures to promote its wide-range of household products.
